MATT’S RECOMMENDATIONS – 2016 PRIMARY ELECTION
President – DONALD TRUMP. This election is about America vs. Globalism. There has only been one President since JFK that was not a globalist, Ronald Reagan. After much investigation and conversations with leaders throughout the country, I believe Donald Trump is not a globalist. He has also committed, both through policy and Supreme Court picks, to a pro-life position, defense of the right to bear arms, protection of religious liberty, elimination of the 501(c)(3) (Johnson Amendment) strangling churches, and to return control over land rights back to the states. If he does just these things it would have a dramatic positive impact on our country. That said, he has many flaws but I have always maintained that the better candidate is the one most savagely attacked by the mainstream media. Hillary as evidenced by her own statements and leaked emails will try to eliminate U.S. sovereignty and the right to bear arms. I believe we are facing a question of the survival of our Republic and rule of law (not government above the law). I chose America.
U.S. Senate – NO RECOMMENDATION. Both candidates are pro-choice.
5th Congressional District – NO RECOMMENDATION. I can tell you Cathy McMorris Rogers has supported bills like the Energy and Infrastructure Act antithetical to Constitutional Conservatism and endorsed against and/or opposed every good conservative in this area.

KEY BALLOT MEASURES
SJ 8210, Redistricting Reform – VOTE APPROVE. This constitutional amendment would take some of the politics out of the timing of the completion of redistricting making it 46 days earlier.
Initiative 1433, Increasing Minimum Wage – VOTE NO. This will destroy jobs and opportunities for 18-30 year-olds, crush small mom-and-pop businesses, and increase the prices of goods and services. If it is such a good idea, then why not $50 an hour?
Initiative 1464, Socialization of Campaigns – VOTE NO. This measure would actually pay politicians to run for office, muzzles small businesses, creates a huge new bureaucracy, and increases the sales tax by $285 million. It is an unconstitutional restriction of speech & contracts.
Initiative 1491, Gun Control – VOTE NO. – Would allow for the wholesale confiscation of firearms. A broad group of people including police can file a petition against you. Merely buying a gun legally or possessing ammunition are “factors” in determining whether an order is granted. In practice, even hearsay evidence can be admitted. THIS IS GUN CONFISCATION.
Initiative 1501, SEIU Dues Protection – VOTE NO. – This measure is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. It limits worker’s knowledge of their rights. Recently many members of SEIU have decided not to share their dues with SEIU and their political agenda, as is their legal right. This measure is SEIU’s response.
Initiative 732, Carbon Tax – VOTE NO. – The gimmick here is an initial revenue reduction. It is still a long-term tax leading to the massive new bureaucracy that will ultimately destroy more jobs.
Initiative 735, Eliminating Free Speech, VOTE NO. – This measure would advocate censoring small businesses trying to fight government regulations and advocacy groups like NRA and GOA.
Spokane Transit Authority Proposition 1. – VOTE REJECT
This is a $200 million transit tax and boondoggle for only 5% of the daily trips. It equates to spending $50,000.00+ per person riding.
Advisory Vote No. 14 – VOTE REPEAL. This is a healthcare insurance tax increase.
Advisory Vote No. 15 – VOTE REPEAL. This is a tax on electric cars to skew the market.
